TOPSoccer!

TOPSoccer is a community-based training program for differently abled players, ages 4 and older (adults included) with a cognitive and/or physical disability.  Organized by youth soccer volunteers, this unique program enables these players to participate at levels consistent with their skills, not necessarily their age.

Contact Salmon Creek TOPSoccer by email at SalmonCreekTOPSoccer@gmail.com .  You can also reach Julie at 360-326-3898. We will be practicing every Saturday morning during summer vacation this year.

The Only Snow?

I know this really isn't an interesting place in Vancouver, but it is a rare sight. Snow. I have a feeling this may be the only snow we get this winter so I thought I'd take a few pictures while it was around.

Remembrance Wall

I was downtown with my camera today and came upon the Remembrance Wall located on 4th and Columbia. The thing I found to be a bit strange were the palm trees. I guess they do grow here, just not very big. If you haven't been down there you should go and take a look at it. There are some wonderful murals.

Wow

I almost forgot about this blog. I started out wanting to take pictures of people in this little town. Now I think I'm going to change my focus on interesting sights in the little town. Stay tuned...

Rachel Haeger

Age: 21

I was born in Portland, OR but have lived in Vancouver, WA all my life. This city is a nice place to live, work and grow up in. The schools are good, plenty of job opportunities, and nice communities. This city has grown rapidly over the years. What I like about Vancouver is that I have everything I need right here, family, friends, job, school, and a home. I also like the fact that I am close to forest, the ocean, and mountains. It is also nice living right across the river from Portland, OR. It gives me a lot of things to do as far as entertainment, shopping, and site seeing. There are soo many things to do and see in these two cities that it keeps me pretty well entertained.
I have my own apartment in Vancouver, but I commute twice a week to Portland for school. I work at Walgreens and attend school at The Art Institute of Portland. I am majoring in Design Management right now with a focus in Graphic Design. I would like to go back after earning that degree and get a degree in photography as well. The Art Institute of Portland is a great school to go to, they are teaching me everything I need to know.
I love photography; it is my passion and hobby. Right now, I’m trying to put myself out there and get as much experience as I can. Current projects are looking for a place on the web to show off my photos, making my business cards, taking pictures of friends and family for the holidays, and updating equipment.
Vancouver provides nice places to take photos and portraits. With Portland across the river providing good spots to buy equipment, this area has everything I need right now to get started.
If your interested in seeing what I’ve got going so far please feel free to view my Myspace web page for my photography. Myspace URL: www.myspace.com/503944964
